We can create a group database for your school. You can then register your students for a sponsored cognitive skill screening. You can add groups (subgroups) (by class or by teacher) as needed and students can be registered within or easily moved to any of the various subgroups.  Once registered a student can login with the id and password assigned at registration and take a cognitive skills evaluation. Your students will need to concentrate and be able to hear well (good headphones if in a lab). Requires a high speed connection and current version of Flash.

This evaluation is a screening tool that gives similar results to the leading cognitive skill batteries which have been used primarily for the diagnosis of learning limitations. Our goal is to evaluate every child. The test is online, takes only 35 minutes and also includes one non-cognitive measurement, Word Attack, which measures a student’s knowledge of and application of sound codes in order to pronounce unknown words.

The evaluation informs teachers with specific awareness of relative core learning strengths or weak skill areas for each student and it can become an integral part of the body of knowledge being collected in Response to Intervention. A school can complete the process of testing every student very quickly and the results are available immediately.

Once you have completed the evaluations for your entire student body (age seven and above) you will need to contact us again and we will review the results with you. Your school can potentially qualify for sponsored access to an introductory package of online brain training exercises for ten low-income students. This access is limited to students who qualify for, or who would qualify for, the federal free and reduced-price school lunch program. That means they reside in households with income levels at or below 185 percent of federal poverty guidelines, which are based on family size.

It is our understanding that some states do not have an income eligibility test, sometimes referred to as a means test. In other words, even wealthy families can qualify for private or public tuition scholarships. For any brain training program sponsorships our nonprofit provides, schools must adhere to our income qualification policy. As a participating school we will work with you to help find funding for additional sponsorships with the goal of providing brain training access for every means qualified student you want to include.

Any parents of your students who do not meet our nonprofit means qualification requirement and want brain training for their child should be encouraged to contact a leading local learning center for help if one is available in your area, or should consider separately selecting and purchasing a program. The online program sponsored by Cognitive First can be purchased by logging in to the Registration page. When a parent buys a peogram for their child they can enter a designated code  or the name of their child’s school under Special Group Registration as the Registration Code on their registration page. With this designation, each time a parent of one of your students purchases the program their child will be included in your group database and we will sponsor the program for one additional low-income student in your school.

Please contact us to get started.  This introduction and offer will impact and change lives. We know you agree that…
