Save a School…Donesa is our Hero!

First of all, Donesa has an advantage. She knows a lot. But you will know enough to get started when you finish reading this page. Donesa owns and directs a learning and reading remediation clinic in Louisiana. Her clinic is one of the leading clinics in the nation. She gets proven results. So she does know a lot.

But Donesa also cares a lot. And hers was one of the clinics that pioneered using the same online brain training program we sponsor for low income children.

She cares about her community. So when a school principal came to her with a big problem she came to us. The big problem is that the school just received their most recent academic scores. The have not been meeting Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements and if their results don’t improve the school will be closed, children will displaced and jobs will be lost.

Within a week of the call from Donesa we had provided a database, access to testing for the 64 under-resourced students the school selected (all 64 students were tested in three lab periods in one day and the results were available immediately) and we provided the sponsorships to cover the brain training exercises for each student. That’s a $33,917 gift even at our reduced rates. It takes two Founder’s level donors plus some to cover that amount but think about it — $30,000+ to change lives, save a school and impact a community!

And Donesa has a big heart. She is making a big investment in children who could never afford to be helped in her clinic. She and her staff are finding a way to provide the coaching (meeting with each student each week for up to 30 minutes during the twelve week program) that assures greater success for every student. That’s 132 hours of attention given per month for three months. A big investment but a school can be saved, and more than that at-risk students can have new hope and the tools they need to build the stronger learning skills they need to achieve their full potential.

Donesa is our hero. You can be a hero in your community. And you don’t have to own a brain training center or know what she knows. You just have to ask a question. Ask a question—Change Lives!
